Objective To investigate the effect of internal fixative operation with special-shaped plate on Pi- lon fracture.Methods 84 cases of Pilon fracture were treated respectively by continuous skeletal traction of calca- neus,internal fixative operation with general steel plate or Kirschner wire,or internal fixative operation with special- shaped plate.Results All the cases were followed up for 6 months to 2 years postoperatively.The rate of being ex- cellent and fine of 3 groups treated by 3 different methods was 42%,61% and 72 % separately.Conclusion Inter- nal fixative operation with special-shaped plate is a good way to treat Pilon fracture for its less complication and more recuperation and retention of function for anklebone.

Grasses infected by endophytes have an extraordinary impact on the ecology and economy of pasture and turf. In this review, we presented recent research progress on origin and evolution, biological and ecological impact, and perspective of the association in order to make full use of the widely distributed endophyte resources.

Objective To discuss the clinical effects of open reduction and internal fixation with locking compression plate(LCP)to treat elderly women with comminuted distal radius fracture.Methods 32 elderly women(35 sides)with comminuted distal radius fractures were treated by open reduction and internal fixation with LCP from March 2002 to October 2004 in our department.Their mean age was 65 years old.According to AO classification,11 sides were type A3,15 sides type C2 and nine sides type C3.Volar approach was used in 32 sides and dorsal approach in three sides.Bone graft was applied for five sides.Results The follow-up period was 10 to 41 months(mean 21.5 months)and the union period was three to five months.According to Dienst criteria of joint functions,the result s showed that 13 sides were excellent,19 sides good,two sides fair and one side poor.Complications included wound dehiscence and superficial infection in five sides and median nerve injury in two sides.Conclusion The LCP method in this study is one of the good options to treat elder women with comminuted distal radius fractures.

Objective　To examine the left ventricular diastolic function of patients with coronary artery diseases by noninvasive echocardiography and invasive coronary angiography.Methods　Mitral and pulmonary venous Doppler signals were recorded by the continuous wave Doppler technique in 62 patients, both coronary angiography and left ventricle pressure were measured. Patients were divided into normal and abnormal groups based on coronary angiography.Results　Left ventricular end diastolic pressure (LVEDP) (17.6 mm Hg vs 13.2 mm Hg,P<0.05),the left ventricular negative Δp/Δt before atria contraction ［-(224.63±52.18),-(87.81±24.41),P<0.05］,and the elevated value of left ventricular pressure derived from atria contraction ［(6.66±0.92)mm Hg vs (0.96±1.87)mm Hg,P=0.0094］ in abnormal group were more than those in the normal. The ratio of slope in pulmonary vein and mitral A wave peak was less in normal group than that in the abnormal (5.10±0.31 vs 4.12±0.20,P＝0.0106). But the isovolume relaxation parameters had no differences between the two groups.Conclusions　Coronary arter ischemia is an important cause of left ventricular impaired relaxation aggravation and stiffness, the diastolic abnormalities existed in the whole diastolic duration. Except ischemia, other factors also could cause relaxation disfuction and even elevate the LVEDP.

AIDS has become a global disease,and a variety of drugs are used in the treatment of AIDS ,but the interindividual variabilities in efficacy and toxicity remain important limitations for the use of these drugs.Studies have shown genetic polymor-phism is the main reason for interindividual variabilities of drug reaction.In recent years,scholars focused on the pharmacog-enomics of anti-AIDS drugs and found that genetic polymor-phisms,in large part,determine the interindividual variabilities of the responese of these drugs.This paper reviews the research progress on pharmacogenomics of the four types of anti-AIDS drugs commonly used in China,including nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs),non-nucleoside reverse tran-scriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs),protease inhibitors (PIs)and integrase inhibitors (raltegravir).
