Abstract:
Ngo mtshar dga’ ston gter mdzod” by gelong (Fully ordained monk, Tib. དགེ་སློང་) Choijamts is one of the important medical books of traditional medicine. From this book, we found the Srog dzin-5 prescription and the purpose of the study is to determine acute and chronic toxicity of the prescription, and to identify its effect on animal models of depressive disorders.
Methods:
1. The study was conducted using quantitative research method by experimental research model.
2. Determination of acute and chronic toxicity.
3. Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress (CUMS) Procedure.
Conclusion
1. Srog dzin-5 prescription (LD50 = 25.8 (24-29) g/kg) has been shown to be non-toxic according to the generally accepted classification of K.Sidorov and B.Berezovskaya. When conducting histological studies, it was found that the surface of the liver, kidneys and adrenals is smooth. Color, shape and size of organs are normal.
2. In the model of chronic stress-induced depression, the Srog dzin-5 prescription increases physical activity, reduce tears, prevent anxiety and weight loss.

Abstract:
There is a growing need for a systematic study of the use of medicines prepared from herbal, animal, and mineral raw materials in traditional Mongolian medicine to a new level. Based on traditional medicine technology and use, the study identified the most suitable modern medicinal ingredients for the human body, namely a medicine that can be used for depression in the ancient scripture, “Ngo mtshar dga’ ston gter mdzod” by Gelen Choijamts and further practical application is imperative.
Purpose:
To study the effects of Srog dzin-5 prescription on pathogenesis model of acute stress and animal models of depressive disor- ders.
Conclusion
1. In the pathogenesis model of acute stress disorder caused by restricted mobility, Srog dzin-5 prescription prevents stress-induced thymic involution and enlargement of adrenal glands.
2. In the pathogenesis model of ethanol-induced depression, Srog dzin-5 prescription increased physical activity, reduced despair, and prevented anxiety according to behavioral assessment.

Introduction:
The Government of Mongolia has defined a comprehensive national development policy based on
the State population policy document and the Millennium Development Goals, and approved the
fourth national program on “Reproductive Health’’ by Resolution No. 61 of February 29, 2012 [1].
Goal:
To study some risk factors affecting the pregnancy, fetal development and prevention
Objectives:
- Evaluation of the pregnancy process, medical care and support
- To study the status of the pregnant woman’s family and society, as well as the health and
psychological state of her reproductive health.

Materials and Methods:
Study design
A cohort study design was used for the study. Pregnant mothers who are admitted to the study will be
screened for maternity leave and a 28-day follow-up period.
The questionnaire was completed and checked for completeness at the end of the day during the
data collection process. Before entering the data, they were encoded, entered into Excel 2007,
and analyzed using PASW Statistic 18.0. The independent relationship between the variables was
determined by an adjusted odd ratio and a 95% confidence interval. Obtained permission to do
research in accordance with the Ethics Guidelines for Inclusion and to be discussed at a meeting of
the Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Health. The question was asked in a way that does not hurt
the dignity. The respondents’ answers will remain confidential and anonymous.
Result:
Multivariate regression analysis showed that the first visit to the doctor, total number of visits, mineral
supplements, and high blood pressure were important parameters for fetal growth. 25% of all births
are by caesarean section. Births by age group are 3.0% births under 20, 19% births between 20-24
years old, 31% births between 25-29 years old, 21% births between 30-34 years old, 24% births
between 35-39 years old, and 40-44 years old births. 2%, 45-49 year olds accounted for 1%, first
births accounted for 24% and 6 or more births accounted for 26%. 100% of all births were delivered by an obstetrician or gynecologist. 95% of monitored mothers are actively monitored within 40-45
days after delivery. The mothers interviewed were 100% consulted only by a doctor, whether the
pregnancy was conducted with the participation of a doctor, a psychologist or a social worker. Syphilis
was registered in Bayanzurkh-8, Songinokhairkhan-6, Chingeltei-4, Bagakhangai-2, Bayangol, Khan-Uul, Sukhbaatar and Baganuur districts. Of the women surveyed, 35% had bacterial vaginitis, 60%
had normal, 3% had fungal infections, and 2% had trichomoniasis.
Conclusion
The following factors are important in the course of pregnancy and fetal development:
1. The quality of hospital care has a significant impact on the course of pregnancy and fetal
development.
2. The family and social status of the pregnant woman, her reproductive health, and his or her
psychological state are important factors in the pregnancy process and in the normal development
of the fetus.
3. Prevention: Everyone who is planning to become pregnant should be aware of the factors that
can affect the progression of pregnancy and the development of the fetus.

BackgroundIn 1988, the Forty-first World Health Assembly adopted a resolution for the Global Polio Eradication.Since the initiative was launched, number of polio cases has fallen by over 99%. Today, only threecountries in the world, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria - remain polio-endemic. The Polio Eradicationand Endgame Strategic Plan of 2013-2018 calls for the gradual eradication of wild virus strain and thevaccine virus strain at the same time. In order to prevent the border transmission of wild type poliovirus,virus leakage from laboratories, it is required to conduct inventory of laboratories handling poliovirus andpotential infectious materials every 2 year.GoalTo identify laboratories handling poliovirus and potential infectious materialsMethodsSurvey of laboratories handling poliovirus and potential infectious materials was conducted amongstate, private, clinical, biomedical and environmental testing in total of 127 laboratories operating in21 provinces and 9 districts of Ulaanbaatar city by questionnaire. Survey questionnaire consists of 6sections (general, sample storage, laboratory biosafety, staff knowledge, information source, trainingand etc.). Study results were processed using SPSS-19 statistical programme.Results34.7% of 96 biomedical laboratories were analyzed stool samples. These laboratories were analyzedrotavirus (17.0%), intestinal bacteria (67.0%), Helicobacter (14.3%), parasite and other indicators (1.7%)in stool samples. 43.8% of laboratories were stored stool samples for one day and 3.1% up to oneyear. From 31 environmental testing laboratories 73.3% were bacterialdetection test on environmentalsamples. 60% of wastewater samples were collected from rivers, 16% on entrance to wastewatertreatment plant and after biological treatment combined, and 24% from other sources. Soil sampleswere collected near waste disposal and other sources (46.4%), and from unknown sources (53.6%).24.1% of all laboratories were stored environmental samples for 3 days, 3.4% for 45 days. Accordingto results, surveyed laboratories did not store samples for more than 1 year. Also, none of surveyedlaboratories (100%) were not stored poliovirus and potential infectious materials.Conclusion· The investigated laboratories were not stored poliovirus and potential infectious materials.· The biosafety and biosecurity status of laboratories should be improved in near future throughenhancing knowledge of laboratory workers and organizing training related to biosafetyandbiosecurity.

BACKGROUND. The 84.4 percent of newly diagnosed patients with diabetes have obesity
in Mongolia. Nowadays, prevalence of obesity has increased steadily in Mongolia.
Diabetic patients with viral hepatitis has high risk of having liver cirrhosis. Therefore,
screening of fatty liver and liver fibrosis in diabetic patients is more important. The main
diagnosing method of fatty liver and liver fibrosis is liver biopsy and histology but so far,
we are able to detect viral infection using viral marker and determine fibrosis stage of
NAFLD in patients who has diabetes mellitus type 2. Using noninvasive method determining
liver fibrosis involve many researches to reveal new biomarkers and technics to
find out liver fibrosis. Japanese researchers has found The Wisteria floribunda agglutinin-
positive human Mac-2-binding protein (WFA+-M2BP) was recently shown to be a
liver fibrosis glycobiomarker with a unique fibrosis-related glycoalteration.This biomarker
helps to determine liver fibrosis stage in fatty liver disease and viral hepatitis. There is
no research to reveal viral infection, fatty liver and liver fibrosis in diabetic patients in
Mongolia, so far. So it is necessary to study revealing viral infection, fatty liver disease
and to determine stages of fibrosis using WFA+-M2BP to screen liver fibrosis in diabetic
patients. OBJECTIVE. To identify viral infection, HCV/HBV in patients with diabetes and
to compare liver function and diabetes control for diabetic patients with liver disease.
METHODS. We collect data from 25thNovember, 2015 to October of 2016. We got permission
of research from the patients by handwriting signature who diagnosed Diabetes
mellitus in National University Hospital. Haemotology, biochemistry test, coagulogramm,
immunology test are evaluated in 415 patients in clinical laboratory of National university
hospital. By the objective, the diabetes patients with viral hepatitis will attend
to second step of research. We used HISCL 5000 apparatus of Sysmex Japan to do
immunology tests. Also we use SPSS 19.0 and EXCEL program. RESULT. There were 294
patients and by WHO classification of ages 20-29 aged patient (n=4), 30-39 aged(n=19),
40-49 aged(n=65), 50-59 aged(n=126), 60-70 aged(n=48), over 70 aged(n=14)or
53.24±9.43. 146 patients are male,148 patients are female.By BMI 29.9±1.14.By blood
test, thrombocytes counted 256.6±11.7;in coagulogramm the prothrombin time was
111.7±31.4; in biochemistry test total bilirubin 16.46±10.6; AP 364.7±192.3;AST 35.7±45.7;
ALT 42.8±45.5; GGT 86.53±123.4;albumin 42.06±23.95;total cholesterol 6.04±2.47;triglyceride
5.72±34.5;HbA1c 8.83±5.92; in immunology testsanti-HCV 29.37±18.87 (n=58); HBsAg
590.134±1013.7 (n=23); M2BP (COI) counted 2.24±2.19. CONCLUSION. There were 58
diabetic patients with C viral infection and 23 diabetic patients with B viral infection.
By WFA+-M2BP glycobiomarker, we found that diabetic patients with viral hepatitis has
more liver fibrosis.
6.Outcomes of retinopathy of prematurity screening at National Center For Maternal And Child Health

Purpose:
To investigate the outcomes of ROP screening of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
Methods:
This was a prospective of prematurity infants screened ROP from 2020 April 13th to
April 28th 2020 and from 2020 June 08 th to June 22th 2020 and prospective cohort study of
premature infants with treatment-requiring ROP who received intravitreal injections, laser surgery.
Demographic factors, diagnosis and clinical course were recorded. Indirect ophthalmoscopy
and Retinal imaging was performed using RetCam (Natus Medical, Pleasanton, CA) and
images were taken. Each eye was evaluated by the pediatric ophthalmologist and aimag’s
ophthalmologist for the presence or absence of ROP, zone of vascularization, stage, plus disease,
and aggressive posterior ROP (AP-ROP). The diagnosis and classification of ROP for this current
study were determined by examination using indirect ophthalmoscopy, and treatment plans
were determined according to the International Classification for ROP and the Early Treatment for
ROP Study (ET-ROP).2,13
Results:
A total of 90 premature infants with BW ≤ 2000g and/or GA ≤ 34 weeks were screened for
ROP during the study period. 8 (8.8%) of the 90 infants screened required treatment. The 8 infants
who received ROP treatment had a mean GA of 28.5 ± 1.7 weeks, mean BW of 1237.5 ± 125.42g,
mean PMA of 36 weeks and mean follow-up time of 2 months.
Conclusion
After treatment, resolution of ROP was noted in approximately 100 % of the patients
who had treatment-requiring ROP.
