Objective To investigate the influence of early oral feeding (EOF)after laparoscopic surgery in the function status and gastrointestinal living quality of the patients with colorectal cancer, and to clarify the feasibility of EOF after laparoscopic surgery. Methods Sixty-three patients underwent laparoscopic surgery of colorectal cancers participated in the trial.Of these,31 patients received EOF as EOF group, received a clear liquid diet on the first postoperative day followed by a regular diet as tolerated;the other 32 patients received traditional oral feeding (TOF ) as TOF group who were fed with feeding only after the recovery of their postoperative gastrointestinal functions. The nasogastric tube was removed from all patients in both groups immediately after surgery.Self-designed EOF questionnaire data, Karnofsky Scores and Gastrointestinal Quality of Life Index (GIQLI)Scores were used to evaluate the functional status and gastrointestinal living guality of the patients. Results The using time of total parenteral nutrition (TPN),time of postoperative hospital stay, and costs after surgery in EOF group were lower than those in TOF group (P<0.05);but there were no significnat differences in the first passage of flatus and feces time between two groups (P<0.05),also there were no significant differences in the incidence of nasogastric tube reinsertion, pulmonary infection, intestinal obstruction, balance of intestinal bacteria, fistula, incision infection between two groups (P>0.05),and the incidence of abdominal distension was higher than that in TOF group (P<0.05);on postoperative day 7,the albumin recovered faster in EOF group (P<0.05),and on postoperative day 4 and 7,the pro-albumin also recovered faster in EOF group (P<0.05);the patients in EOF group had a higher Karnofsky score (P<0.05)and GIQLI score compared with the patients in TOF group (P<0.05 ). Conclusion EOF after laparoscopic surgery in the patients with colorectal cancers is beneficial for rehabilitation, and it can reduce the risk of hospitalization and saving its costs;it plays an active role in protein recovery, and improves the functional status and gastrointestinal living quality of the patients.

BACKGROUND: Islet transplantation is an effective therapy for type I diabetic patients sensitive to insulin.OBJECTIVE: To investigate and evaluate the status and obstacles of islet transplantation in type I diabetes in China.METHODS: Published articles reported from January 1980 to December 2008 on Chinese Medical Current Contents database, the national funds from 2002 to 2008 in the database of National Natural Science Foundation of China on islet transplantation were searched to analyze the status of islet transplant research and clinical practice in China.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: 340 articles were reported from 1980 to 2008 related to islet transplantation in China, including 165 (48.5%) basic research, 45 (13.2%) clinical research and 130 (38.2%) reviews. Most of researches were conducted in the developed regions in the east of China. The Edmonton protocol had a great impact on the islet transplant research in China, and many projects of islet transplant have been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation. However, there remains obstacles in this field, such as organ and capital shortage and incomplete organ donation system.

Objective:To explore the application effect of health education based on knowledge, attitude and practice model in improving readiness for hospital discharge and quality of discharge guidance for patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm surgery. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 152 patients who underwent craniotomy and intravascular interventional embolization in Neurosurgery Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from July 2019 to May 2020 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into in the control group and the experimental group, with 76 cases in each group. The experimental group was given health education based on knowledge, attitude and practice model at basis of routine discharge guidance health education, while the control group was given routine discharge guidance health education. The scores of readiness for hospital discharge and quality of discharge guidance of the two groups were compared. Results:The total score of readiness for hospital discharge in experimental group was (90.80±7.63) , which was higher than that in control group (55.34±9.80) . The total score of quality of discharge guidance of the experimental group was (159.11±10.79) , which was higher than (80.45±12.65) of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( t= -24.893, -41.230; P<0.01) . Conclusions:The implementation of health education based on knowledge, attitude and practice model can effectively improve readiness for hospital discharge and quality of discharge guidance for patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm surgery.

Objective:To understand the current status of knowledge of brucellosis prevention and control among occupational groups at high-risk of brucellosis, and to provide a scientific basis for assessing the effectiveness of brucellosis prevention and control in China. Methods:A total of four counties in Shanxi Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were selected as survey counties from 2019 to 2020, and 600 people from the occupational groups at high-risk of brucellosis in each survey county were selected as survey respondents, and basic information and knowledge of prevention and treatment were collected through questionnaires. Single-factor and multi-factor logistic regression models were used to analyze the factors affecting the population's knowledge of prevention and treatment. Results:A total of 2 411 people participated in the survey and 2 384 valid questionnaires were obtained, including 1 405 males and 979 females, with the youngest age being 18 years old, the oldest being 91 years old, and the median being 57 years old. The overall knowledge of brucellosis prevention and control was 17.74% (423/2 384). The knowledge rate was lower among people over 60 years old, farmers, and people with less than elementary school education (13.99%, 14.50%, and 13.78%), and higher among women, herders, and people with elementary school education (20.02%, 36.33%, and 19.58%); the knowledge rate was lower in Hunyuan County (0.51%), and the differences in overall knowledge rates by age, occupation, education level, and region were statistically significant (χ 2 = 18.25, 87.18, 11.05, 197.43, P < 0.001). Multi-factor logistic regression analysis showed that gender, occupation, literacy and region were associated with knowledge of prevention and treatment ( P < 0.05). Conclusions:The overall knowledge of prevention and treatment among high-risk occupational groups in the key areas of China's brucellosis prevention and treatment program is low, with a large gap with the goals of the national brucellosis prevention and treatment program, and gender, occupation, literacy level, and region are the influencing factors of the knowledge of prevention and treatment. There is an urgent need to carry out a variety of health education activities for high-risk occupational groups and to strengthen the exchange of experience on brucellosis prevention and treatment between regions.
