Emergency departments of hospitals are exposed to risks of patient complaints and disputes, and the emergency department of a stomatology hospital is no exception. Medical disputes at the emergency department of Peking University Stomatology Hospital, as registered at the department of medical affairs of the hospital in the past ten years, are analyzed with statistical processing. The results are used in studying characteristics of medical disputes frequently found in stomatology emergency cases, for references and recommendations on prevention and avoidance of such disputes in future.

Objective To investigate the effect of bifidobacterium (Bif) supplementation on acute inflammatory response in murine dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis, and its possible mechanism. Methods Mice were divided into four groups: control,DSS, salfasalazine (SASP) and Bif. The mice in groups DSS, SASP and Bif were fed with 5% DSS(w/v) solution for 7 days to induce colitis, and disease activity index (DAI) was calculated every day. The mice in group SASP were fed with SASP every day during inducing colitis, and the mice in Bif group were given Bif by oral gavage from 7 days before the experiment to the end of experiment. The expression of TNF-?、NF-?B P65 and myeloperoxidase (MPO) in inflamed colon of each group was measured at the end of experiment. Results The mice in groups SASP and Bif showed a lower DAI than those in group DSS since the forth day to the end of experiment. There were lower level of TNF-? and MPO in murine inflammatory colon, and lower NF-?B P65 expression in nuclei of inflammatory cells in groups SASP and Bif than those in control at the end of experiment. Conclusions Treatment with Bif can effectively inhibit proinflammatory cytokine secretion and NF-?B activation in inflammatory cells, and decrease colonic inflammatory response in DSS induced colitis.

Objective To study the clinical efficacy and safety of Rosiglitazone (RSG) combined with insulin in treatment of elderly type 2 diabetes mellitus (type 2 DM) that had poor response to insulin treatment. Methods 68 cases of elderly type 2 DM patients with poor response to insulin treatment were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.The control group was treated with proper dose of insulin,and the experimental group were administered RSG 4mg/day plus insulin for 20 weeks. 4 weeks and 20 weeks after treatment FBC, PBC, HbA1C, UAER of 24 hrs, daily changes of insulin dosage and side-effect of the medicine were observed. Objective To explore the effect of formaldehyde on learning and memory and the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the cerebral tissues. Methods 40 ICR mice were randomly divided into four gropes: A-control group (NS was added into water bottle), B, C, D-three formaldehyde dose groups (0.1, 0.2, 0.4% formaldehyde solution were added into water bottles). After 30 days of treatment, the ability of learning and memory were evaluated by Morris watermaze test and step-down test and the activity of SOD in the cerebral tissues was determined. Objective Among the factors affecting embryo implantation, oxidative stress is one that receives much medical attention. The purpose of the study was to explore the effect of H2 O2 on the endometrial stromal cells ( ESCs) in the decidual mouse model of oxidative stress of ESCs. Methods Primary ESCs cultured by enzymatic digestion with a mesh filter were divided into a control, an experimental, and a model group. Decidualization was induced in the mice of the experimental and model groups by inter-vention with 10 nM E2 and 1μmol/L P4 for 72 h in vitro. Then, the animals of the model group were treated with different concentra-tions of H2 O2 for 4 hours. The primary ESCs were identified by immunohistochemistry, the expression of dPRP mRNA determined byRT-PCR, the proliferation of the decidual ESCs treated with H2 O2 analyzed by CCK-8, and the level of ROS detected by flow cytometry. Results Primary mouse ESCs were successfully isolated, cultured, and identified, which were shaped like spindles and polygons, radial-ly aligned under the microscope. Immunofluorescence analysis showed positive expression of vimentin and negative expression of cytokeratin. The purity of the primary mouse ESCs was ( 96. 3 ± 0. 49 )%. Theexpression of dPRP mRNA was significantly higher in the ESCs treated with E2 and P4 than in the control (0.0002±0.0000 vs 1.0010±0.0011, P<0.01). H2O2 at ≥150μmol/L suppressed the proliferation of the decidual ESCs by 6.9% (P<0.05), and in a concen-tration-dependent manner, reaching the maximum inhibition rate of 70.6% at the concentration of 300μmol/L. The level of intracellular ROS was markedly increased in the ESCs treated with H2O2 at 50μmol/L (27.77±4.20) and 100μmol/L (43.57±6.58), with statisti-cally significant difference from that in the control group (17.47±0.61) (P=0.001). Conclusion H2O2 at 100μmol/L can signifi-cantly elevate the intracellar ROS level without affecting the proliferation of decidual primary ESCs, and therefore can be used for estab-lishing the model of oxidative stress of ESCs in decidual mice.

Objective To investigate the situation of admission nursing evaluation on elderly patients of geriatrics departments in several Shanghai comprehensive hospitals, and the results will be the base for designing elderly patient′s comprehensive admission nursing evaluation form. Methods 41 nurse managers of geriatrics department in Shanghai comprehensive hospitals were selected as research object. Self-designed questionnaire included general data, elderly patient admission nursing evaluation content and the importance of each item. Results The effective recovery rate was 97.56%(40/41). 98%(39/40) hospitals considered that elderly patients need to have a comprehensive assessment according to the elderly characteristics, only 18%(7/40) hospitals used the special nursing evaluation form for elderly patients. The score of importance of five dimensions were as follows: geriatric syndromes or problems scored (4.64 ± 0.38), physical function assessment scored (4.60 ± 0.46), physiological function assessment scored (4.53 ± 0.45), mental and psychological assessment scored (4.10 ± 0.57) and social assessment scored (4.07±0.52). The score of importance of 29 items were as follows:fall assessment scored (4.90±0.30), pressure ulcer assessment scored (4.85 ± 0.36), activities of daily living scored (4.75 ± 0.44), urinary incontinence assessment scored (4.70 ± 0.52), pain assessment scored (4.70 ± 0.46). Conclusions It is of great significance to carry on the comprehensive admission nursing evaluation for the elderly patients, which needs to be valued and strengthened.

Objective To analyze risk factors for metabolic syndrome in Mongolia versus Han nationalities in Xilinhaote city. Methods Using the epidemiology investigation data of health examination,we calculated the prevalence of metabolic syndrome of Mongolia and Han nationalities, then used logistic regression model to explore risk factors of two nationalities. Results The crude prevalence of MS in Mongolia and Han nationality was 34.3%and 24.6% respectively. The multivariate logistic regression showed that male, the meat-rich diets and aging(OR:2.18, 1.92, 1.04 respectively)were the risk factors for Mongolia nationality, and smoking, family history of hypertension, drinking, the meat-rich diets, aging(OR:1.89, 1.84, 1.72, 1.61 and 1.04 respectively)were the risk factors for Han nationality. Conclusions Xinlinhaote population has higher MS prevalence, and different nationalities have different risk factors. We should take preventive actions to control it.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effects of L. monocytogenes expressing melanomainhibiting activity(MIA)gene on malignant melanoma.Methods The plasmid pERL3-hly-MIA was constructed and used to transform live L.monocytogenes by electroporation.Atier culture.the transformed L.monocytogenes,namely LM-hly-MIA,was harvested for the detection of MIA protein by Westem Blot.A total of 24 mice were divided into three groups,namely control group,LM group and LM-hly-MIA group,to be immunized with physiological saline,L.monocytogenes and LM-hly-MIA,respectively.One day after the immunization.mice were subcutaneously inoculated with 0.1 mL of B16 cells at a concentration of 1×107/mL.One week later.reimmunization was performed.The size and weight of tumors were observed and measured in these mice.Results Enzyme digestion and Western blot confirmed the Successful construction of plasmid pERL3-hly-MIA.The average weight of tumors in mice was 4.33±0.91 gram.3.36 ±0.41 gram and 1.89±0.52 gram,respectively in the control group,LM group and LM-hly-MIA group,respectively(P＜0.05).with the inhibition rates of tumor growth being 22.4%and 61.5%in LM group and LM-hly-MIA group.respectively.Conclusion The attenuated strain of L.monocytogenes expressing MIA gene could evidently inhibit melanoma growth.
