Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(15):1176-1177
Sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma happens rarely, the clinical manifestations of the disease lacked specificity, with nasal obstruction and blood mainly in a unilateral nasal cavity. Two casas were reviewed, one case of tumor located in the middle of inferior turbinate; 1 in the bottom wall of the anterior nasal cavity. The tumor appeared dark red and unsmooth surface. Sinus CT scan showed occupying shadow and significant bone de struction. Complete resection of the lesion was performed. The pathology of neoplasm showed small-medium sized oval nuclei, high nucleus to cytoplasm ratio, and active mitosis. The pathological diagnosis was undifferentiated carcinoma. Comprehensive treatment of postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy were given distant metastasis still happened. One survived in 2 years of follow-up, 1 patient died in 18 months.

2.Progress in research on classification and reconstruction of acetabular defects in revision of total hip arthroplasty
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2004;0(08):-
Management of acetabular deficiency in revision of hip arthroplasty can be extremely challenging. A successful outcome requires careful preoperative planning, identification of complex defects, and stable reconstruction. Now, acetabular reconstructions that are conducted with autograft and allograft filling the defect and special techniques are effective. As more revisions of total hip arthroplasty take place in clinic, a systematic approach to diagnosis and treatment becomes more important. This paper reviews the progress made in classification and reconstruction of acetabular defects.

Chinese Journal of Interventional Cardiology 1996;0(01):-
Objective To investigate the level of coronary endothelial injury and dysfunction, the jeopardy score of coronary artery lesion by angiography, and their correlations in patients with stable angina (SA) or unstable angina (UA). Methods The 20 patients with UA, 17 patients with SA and 18 patients excluding coronary heart disease (control) were studied. Blood samples were collected during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). To investigate the coronary endothelial injury and dysfunction, we measured the concentrations of nitric oxide (NO)? endothelin (ET) and the number of circulating endothelial cells (CEC) in coronary sinus blood. The jeopardy score for coronary artery lesion was evaluated according to the method by Califf. Results In angina patients, especially in UA patients, NO concentration in coronary sinus blood was lower, while ET concentration and CEC number were markedly higher than those in control group. The jeopardy scores showed no difference between UA and SA. The coronary endothelial injury and dysfunction showed a positive correlation with jeopardy scores. Conclusion The coronary endothelial injury and dysfunction is not only the initiation factor, but may play a key role in the progression of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Coronary angiography combined with detection of coronary endothelial injury and dysfunction may better describe the lesion of coronary artery, and evaluate the prognosis of patients with coronary heart disease.

Objective To explore the efficacy of endoscopic surgery for juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma.MethodsDuring 27 years from March 1980 to July 2007,we performed endoscopic surgery on totally 19 patients with nasopharyngeal angiofibromas.According to Radkowski Stating, five of the patients were stage ⅠA,ten were stage ⅠB,and 4 were stage ⅡA.Before the endoscopy, superselective embolization was performed in all the cases via bilateral maxillary arteries. Results All tumors were successfully resected by endoscopy. The intraoperative blood loss was 200-600 ml.One of the stageⅡA patient developed cerebrospinal rhinorrhea during the endoscopic resection, and thus received repair of the middle turbinate by a mucosal patch immediately. In this series of patients,no massive epistaxis, intracerebral infection,or blindness occurred.Follow-up at three months after the surgery by nasoscopy showed epithelialisation of the nasal mucous membrane without residual tumor tissues.Meanwhile, otoscopy revealed normal light reflex of the eardrum,no fluid in the middle ear.Of the patients, eleven were followed up for one to five years, during which none of them had recurrent tumors confirmed by nasoscopy or CT scan. Conclusions Endoscopic resection of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma results in little trauma and few blood loss after superselective embolization.Experience and surgical skills are key points for the operation.

Objective To study the role of activated microglia transplantation in recovery of hindlimb locomotor function in rats with spinal cord injury(SCI). Methods A total of 40 female adult Wistar rats were selected and divided into four groups randomly(10 rats in each group). The former two groups were locomotor function observation groups,in which rat model with spinal cord was established by striking with improved self-made Allen's strike equipment to fabricate moderate spinal cord injury and divided into transplantation group and control group. The latter two were histological observation groups, the spinal cord injury model was fabricated by the same above-mentioned method and divided into transplantation and control groups. Before fabricating the spinal cord injury model, the microglia of the newborn rats were cultured, separated, purified and identified and the purity of the microglia determined. The injury position was exposed again seven days after transplantation and the cell suspension of microglia was injected around the injury position with microsyringe, which was free in the control group. The hindlimb locomotor function of rats was detected and scored at 1 day,1,2,3 and 4 weeks in the locomotor function observation groups after transplantation respectively. At the same time, two rats were extracted randomly from the control group and the transplantation group in histological observation groups to cut specimen and slice for Naoumenko-Feign paraffin section and dying. Then, the microglia were observed and counted by microscope and analyzed statistically. Results At 1,2,3 and 4 weeks after operation, the BBB score of the control group and the transplantation group was increased gradually with the time. But compared with the control group, transplantation group had higher scores of hindlimb locomotor function at 2,3 and 4 weeks after operation, with statistical difference(P<0.05).Naoumenko-Feigin paraffin section and dying and microglia counting showed that positive microglia number in the transplantation group was increased more obviously than the control group, with statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Activated microglia transplantation can promote the recovery of the hindlimb locomotor function in SCI rats.
