4.Effect of absorbable poly-D,L-lactide acid rod on development of rabbit epiphyseal plate
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2001;0(09):-
0.05).Both femur bone lengths in 3.2mm group were shorter than those in the 1.5 mm and 2.2 mm groups. No abnormalities of cartilage cells were observed, without obvious histological evidence of inflammation;only nonspecific foreign body reaction and macrophage infiltration were noticed. Conclusion: PDLLA rod itself does not cause any disturbance to the development of the epiphyseal plate. The growth disturbance of epiphyseal plate depends on the area of injured epiphyseal plate;a injured area over 7% of epiphyseal plate may cause the growth disturbance of epiphyseal plate.

Objective To compare the results of treatment with biodegradable ligaments and metallic fixation for total acromioclavicular joint dislocation. Methods Twenty eight patients with total acromioclavicular joint dislocation were treated with two different materials, 1) by Kirschner pin and steel wire or screw and steel wire tension band (MF group,16 cases), and 2) reconstructed by artificial coracoclavicular ligament and coracoacromial ligament (BF group,12 cases). There were 17 males and 11 females. All patients had acute dislocation. The time from injury to hospital admission varied from 0-8 days (average, 1.5 days). Results All patients were availble for an average duration of follow up of 39.5 months (range,8-70 months). The results were evaluated by radiographic representations and joint function according to Lazcano's standards. In BF group, 10 patients were assesed as good and 2 as fair. In MF group, 13 patients were assesed as good, 2 as fair and 1 as poor. There were no statistic differences between these two methods. Conclusion Biodegradable ligament fixation is believed to be a good simple method for the treatment of acromioclavicular joint dislocation without the necessity of a second operation for removal of implants.

Objective To discuss the technique of supraorbital transeyebrow keyhole approach microsurgery for sellar tumors. Methods A total of 33 cases of sellar tumors were treated in this hospital from July 2001 to June 2004. The resection of the tumor was achieved by way of a supraorbital eyebrow minicraniotomy through a 2.0 cm ? 3.0 cm keyhole approach. The surrounding cisterns of the sellar area were opened to expose underlying structures under microscope at proper angles. Results Of 26 cases of hypophysoma, a total resection was performed 19 cases, and a subtotal resection in 7 cases. Of 4 cases of craniopharyngioma, a total resection was performed 3 cases, and a subtotal resection, 1 case. One case of meningioma received a total resection, and 1 case of optic chiasm glioma underwent a partial resection. Postoperatively, transitory diabetes insipidus was observed in 5 cases, and grand mal epilepsy occurred in 1 case. There were no infection or bleeding after the operation. All the 33 cases were followed for 4~36 months (mean, 27 months). No recurrence of tumors was seen in the 24 cases of total resection. Postoperative radiotherapy was given in 7 cases of subtotal resection of hypophysoma, 1 case of craniopharyngioma, and 1 case of optic chiasm glioma, and no apparent enlargement of tumors was found. Conclusions Supraorbital transeyebrow keyhole approach microsurgery minimizes the unnecessary exposure of the brain and postoperative complications.

Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 2003;0(06):-
Objective To observe the expression of FcRIIa and FcRIIb on the surface of several immune cells. Methods The expression of FcRIIa and FcRIIb on the surface of several immune cells were detected by RT-PCR and Western blot before and after IVIG incubation. The difference of Fc?RIIb expression on U937 and human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBM) after IVIG induction. was also analyze by FACS.Results Under normal conditions Fc?RIIa was mainly detected in macrophages/monocytes and B lymphocyte cells, while Fc?RIIb could not be detected. After IVIG administration, the expression of FcRIIb on the surface of U937 cells was quickly up-regulated (RT-PCR). FACS analysis revealed that the Fc?RIIb expression on U937 and human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBM) after IVIG induction was also increased. Conclusion The effect of immunoregulation of IVIG was partly achieved by up-regulation of the expression of FcRIIb on the surface of some immune cells.
