Apathy is a common neuropsychiatric complication after stroke,the identification of apathy after stroke and its related factors and providing an effective intervention on it may contribute to the rehabilitation in patients with stroke.This article reviews the incidence of apathy after stroke,pathophysiological mechanisms,diagnostic evaluation and treatment.
2.Study on Gastroscopic and Histologic Mucosal Changes in 2440 Children

Objective To study the gastroscopic and pathohistologic mucosal changes in children′s chronic gastritis and to improve the diagnosis of the chronic gastritis in children.Methods Two thousand four hundred and forty children with upper-abdominal symptoms who were examined by gastroscopic observation were collected,and samples of gastric mucosa were examined by the same pathohistologist.And then the pathohistologic changes were analysed.Results All the 2440 children had different mucosal inflammation confirmed by gastroscope,and the pathologic results show that there were 2132 cases of chronic superficial gastritis(90.03%) and 76 cases of chronic atrophic gastritis(3.21%).Among 2440 cases,80 cases with intestinal metaplasia(3.37%),972 cases with lymphoid follicles(41.05%),409 cases with active inflammation(17.28%),902 cases with helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection(38.09%).Moderate and severe inflammatory were more predominant in patients with Hp infection,especially with lymphoid follicles or active gastritis,and the percentage of them were 50.79%,68.73%,73.53%,respectively.Conclusions Major chornic gastritis in children are chronic superficial gastritis,and the pathohistological changes are different from the adults.It also shows that there is a close relationship between gastric mucosal inflammation and Hp.
3.The expression and clinical significance of microRNA-214 in pancreatic cancer

Background and purpose:Aberrant expressions of microRNAs (miRNA, miR)are reported in various cancers and may associate with cancer occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis, thereby functioning as either tumor suppressors or oncogenes. This study attempted to observe the expression of miR-214 in pancreatic cancer and to explore its clinical signiifcance.Methods:Real-time PCR was used to detect the miR-214 expressions between pancreatic cancer tissues and matched adjacent tissues. The correlations of miR-214 expression with clinic-pathological features and clinical prognosis were analyzed.Results:MiR-214 expression was up-regulated in 69.4%(25/36) of tumor tissue specimens. The relative expression level of miR-214 was signiifcantly higher in tumor tissues than in matched adjacent tissues (3.45vs 1.52,P<0.01). Higher miR-214 level was strongly associated with T3-T4 stage (P=0.018). The Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that patients with higher expression of miR-214 had a shorter survival time (P=0.032).Conclusion:The expression of miR-214 is associated with clinic-pathological features and patient’s clinical prognosis, so it may be used as a potential diagnostic biomarker and a prognostic predictor in patients with pancreatic cancer.

Objective To study the relationship between the expression level of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) protein and telomerase activity as well as its clinical significance in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods Immunohistochemical SP method was employed to detect hTERT protein expression in 52 cases of HCC and paired adjacent tumor tissues, and telomerase activity was examined in these samples with telomeric repeat amplification-ELISA. Objective To explore the effects of restraint water-immersion stress (RWIS) on the firing activities of pyramidal neurons in the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) of rats.Methods Multi-channel in vivo recording techniques were used to record firing activities of pyramidal neurons before and during 4-h RWIS in rats.Firing rates,inter-spike intervals and burst firing rates were taken as indices to study the influence of RWIS on neuronal firing activities.Results Twenty-five pyramidal neurons of 12 rats were recorded.The opposite patterns of firing activities were observed in two different classes of neurons,type A and type B neurons which account for 72% and 28%,respectively.In type A neurons,inhibited firing activities were in direct proportion to the stress-exposure.Mean firing rates and mean burst firing rates were significantly reduced to (0.81 ± 0.11) Hz and (1.012 ± 0.50) counts/min after 4h constant RWIS compared with those before RWIS,(3.57 ± 0.63) Hz and (10.29 ± 3.04) counts/min.However,in type B neurons,firing activities were enhanced.After 2h constant RWIS,mean firing rates and mean burst firing rates were increased from (1.77±0.45) Hz and (2.01±0.73) counts/min to (2.67±0.74)Hz and (9.04±2.42) counts/min,respectively.Moreover,the percentage of spikes in bursts was significantly increased and mean inter-spike intervals were remarkably shortened.Interestingly,the effect of RWIS on type B neurons lasted for shorter time compared with its effect on type A neurons.Conclusion RWIS differentially affects the firing activity of pyramidal neuron in the MPFC,i.e.,inhibiting the firing activity of type A neurons,but enhancing the firing activity of type B neurons.

Chloasma is a common pigmentation on facial skin among middle-aged or young women. The characteris-tic of chloasma is acquired brown spots on exposed facial regions. Modern traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clini-cal treatment mostly follows syndrome differentiation and treatment as well as prescriptions of TCM doctors from pre-vious dynasties. On the basis of different facial location of chloasma, the author explored the correlation between the facial lesion location and five zang-organ under the guidance of TCM holism concept. The creativeness of combining division differentiation and channel pattern differentiation, and the application of channel tropism medicine, provide new ideas for chloasma treatment.

9.Relative Analysis between Drug Sensitivity and Escherichia Coli Induced Enzymes in Childhood Diarrhea

Objective To investigate the distribution of pathogenic bacteria,drug sensitivity,and the relationship between drug sensitivity and Escherichia coli(E.coli) induced enzymes in childhood diarrhea in the last 2 years in Chongqing area,so as to provide important evidence for pediatric clinical therapy.Methods Thirty-one E.coli induced enzymes,extended spectrum ?-laetamases(ESBLs),cephalosporinase(AmpC)detected in different phenotype methods,and drug sensitivity was measured in paper strip method,and the specimens were collected from children′s hospital affiliated to chongqing university of medical sciences from Jan.2005 to Dec.2006 were determined.Among the total,there were 18 enteropathogeic E.coli(EPEC) strains,8 enterotoxigenic E.coli(ETEC) strains and 5 enteroinvasive E.coli(EIEC) strains.In addition,drug resistance tests by paper strip included chloramphenicol(CHL),amikacin(AMK),gentamicin(GEN),norfloxacin(NOF),ciproflocacin(CIP),cefazolin(CEZ),cefoperazone(CPZ),ceftriaxone(CRO),ceftazidime(CAZ),cefotacime(CTX),cefepime(FEP),imipenem(IPM).SPSS 12.0 software was used to analyze the data.Results Three point two percent of the 31 E.coli were drug resistant to IPM,and 35.5%,38.7% to NOF,CIP individually,but more than 60% to AMK,GEN,even more than 67.7% towards cephalosporin(except ceftazidime and cefepime);the gross enzyme-produced rate was 87.1%,rate of single ESBLs,AmpC,and induction of both enzymes simultaneously presented 64.5%,6.5%,16.1% respectively;and there was marked difference in drug resistance when bacteria that produced single AmpC versus bacteria that produced single ESBLs or that produced both ESBLs and AmpC(Pa﹤0.05).Conclusions The relationships among enzyme′s quantity,sort and bacterial resistance are different.These data show E.coli infected by bacterial diarrhea children in Chongqing due to a high rate of induced enzymes,and their drug resistance vary according to the state of induced enzymes.
10.The effects of murine cytomegalovirus on the maturation, fertilization, cleavage and blastula formation of mouse oocytes in vitro.

To study the effects of mouse cytomegalovirus (MCMV) on the in vitro maturation, fertilization, cleavage and blastula formation of mouse oocytes, the immature oocytes were infected in vitro by MCMVs of different dosages (100 TCID(50), 10 TCID(50) and 1 TCID(50)). The oocytes were then observed for in vitro maturation, fertilization, cleavage and blastula formation and the ultrastructural changes after the culture with the viruses. Our results showed that no significant differences were found in IVM, IVF, cleavage and blastula formation among the groups treated with of virus of various dosages. And ultrastructural abnormality was observed in the oocytes treated by 100 TCID(50) of viruses. It is concluded that MCMV did not have any conspicuous effects on IVM, IVF, cleavage and blastula formation of murine immature oocytes.
