Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(07):-
Objective To observe the effects of long-term Mulanquan exercise on antioxidative capacity and vasodilation. To elucidate the mechanism by which Mulanquan regulates endothelial endocrine function. To provide scientific evidence for Mulanquan's regulating blood pressure, improving cardiovascular function and preventing cardi- ovascular disease. Methods Forty-nine women volunteers were divided into an exercise group and a control group. They were fifty to sixty years old.The exercise group included 27 subjects who had practiced mulanquan regularly for at least two years. The control group comprised 22 subjects who had no habit of exercise.Their levels of serum ma- londialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),catalase(CAT)and nitric ox- ide(NO)were quantitatively determined.Results①Serum MDA was lower in the exercise group than in the con- trol group, and the difference between the two groups was highly significant statistically.Serum SOD activity and GSH-Px activity in the exercise group were higher than in the control group, the differences between the two groups being highly significant statistically. There was no significant difference between the groups in serum CAT activity. The serum NO content of the exercise group was higher than that of the controls, with the inter-group difference statis- tically significant.②Serum NO content was positively correlated with SOD activity ,GSH-Px activity, and SOD/MDA, and negatively correlated with MDA content. Conclusion Long-term Mulanquan exercise can suppress lipid peroxi- dation in middle aged and aged women. It can help maintain high antioxidative capacity, increase the secretion of NO,and thus limit any decrease in endothelium-dependent vasodilatation, which will be good for regulating blood pressure and preventing cardiovascular disease.

Abstract: Objective To determine the rate of nasal carriage Staphylococcus aureus among healthcare workers in Department of Infectious Diseases department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University Hospital, and to perform characterization on isolated strains. Methods A cross-sectional study was performed on 86 healthcare workers from February 2022 to June. Nasal swabs were collected from the healthcare workers, and S. aureus were identified after incubation. Antibiotic susceptibility, including chlorhexidine and mupirocin, was assessed by disk diffusion and minimal inhibitory concentration method. The PCR technique was used to detect the biocide resistance genes (qacAB, smr, lmrS mepA, and sepA), virulence genes (pvl, fnbA/fnbB, sea, seb, sec, sed, tst, eta, etb) and mecA gene. SCCmec typing and multilocus sequence typing was performed. For mupirocin-resistant strains, PCR amplification and sequencing were used to identify whether the strains had ileS gene mutations or carried resistant genes (mupA and mupB). Results S. aureus was isolated from 37 of the 86 healthcare workers (43.02%) , including 13 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. The strains showed low resistance rates to levofloxacin (2.70%, 1/37), chloramphenicol (8.11%, 3/37), tetracycline (8.11%, 3/37), gentamicin (10.81%, 4/37), and ciprofloxacin (10.81%, 4/37). A total of 17 strains were identified as multidrug-resistant strains. Four SCCmec types were identified in MRSA strains, with the type II being the most frequent (53.85%, 7/13), followed by type IV (30.77%, 4/13). ST59 (46.15%, 6/13) was the most frequent among MRSA strains, while ST5 (41.67%, 10/24) was the most frequent among methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) strains. sea was the most frequent virulence gene (56.76%, 21/37). sepA and mepA were detected in all 37 isolates. One Staphylococcus aureus strain was not sensitive to chlorhexidine, two strains had the missense mutation V588F (G1762T) and showed low level resistance to mupirocin, and one strain carrying mupA gene was highly resistant to mupirocin. Conclusion The nasal colonization rate of Staphylococcus aureus among healthcare worker in the investigated hospital was high, indicating a risk for nosocomial infections. Strengthened monitoring and decolonization treatment should be carried out to reduce these risks.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
Objective:To study the protective effect of polysaccharide from Rose roxburghii Tratt (RRTP-1) on neural stem cells damaged by glutamic acid (Glu). Method: RRTP-1 was obtained by ion exchange column chromatography and gel chromatography. The neural stem cells were cultured from the striata of fetal mice and damaged by glutamic acid to simulate hypoxic-ischemic brain injury. The cultures were divided into control group, glutamic acid group and test groups in which different doses of RRTP-1 were added with glutamic acid. The death rate of neural stem cells damaged by Glu and LDH leakage were observed. Results:The neural stem cells damage of test groups were alleviated, and the death rate of neural stem cells and LDH leakage of high dose test group were significantly lower than glutamic acid group. Conclusion:RRTP-1 has remarkable protective effect on neural stem cells damage.

BACKGROUND:Evaluation plan for the neuro-musculo-skeletal system model and motor function was little. However, the three-dimensional gait analysis can transfer qualitative analysis and object description which widely used in orthopedics and rehabilitation medicine to quantitative evaluation with more objective and precise.OBJECTIVE:To evaluate gait kinematics and kinetic changes after total knee replacement based on 12 months follow up using three-dimensional gait analysis.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:The comparative observation and case-control study was performed in the Gait Analysis Room of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in the Sixth People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University from January 2007 to May 2008.PARTICIPANTS:Ten patients with knee osteoarthritis following total knee replacement were chosen as treatment group;concurrently, ten patients whose baseline data were matched with the treatment group without problems in nerve, muscle, skeletal system and equilibrium were selected as the control group.METHODS:Ten patients in the treatment group underwent rehabilitation training, then compared time-distance,kinematic,and mechanical parameters which were measured at 3,6,12 months after total knee replacement with the control group.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Time-distance parameter, kinematic parameter, mechanical parameter and knee functional scores.RESULTS:Pace, step frequency, gait speed, and time of injured leg standing were notably decreased, while time of uninjured leg standing, duration of gait cycle were obvious prolonged compared with the control group(P
