Nine compounds derivated from 2-mercaptobezothiazole were synthesized. Their structure have been identified by MS-, IR-, and UV- spectroscopy. Antimicrobial activities of some compounds have been tested. Hydrazide BT6 and substituted hydrazides BT7, BT8, BT9 were found to have significant inhibitory activity on P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, Asp. niger and F. oxysporum at concentration 50mcg/ml.

Realtime xCELLigence analysis (RTCA) is a new cell detection technology to continuously monitor, record and analyze a variety of information generated by cell activity. In drug research, it plays an important role in assessing myocardial toxicity and cell biological activity. Here, we first introduce the underlying mechanisms and characteristics of RTCA. Then we review the applications of RTCA in the research of myocardial toxicity and cell biological activity, to provides the fundamental baseline for understanding and exploiting RTCA. With the real-time, unlabeled, non-invasive, high throughput, and high accuracy features, RTCA not only promotes drug research and development, but also has a broad and good application prospect in other fields.

According to the results of an investigation on 270 households in May 1999 carried out in Tien Son district, Bac Ninh province, 56 (20.79%) purchasing households came to commune health centre, 195 (72.22%) came to private clinic, 8 (2.96%) came to public pharmacy and 11 (4.03%) came to private pharmacy. Quality of the drug, easiness to access, reasonable price, good counseling... are the favorable factors to promote the purchaser's choice

The goal: Pellet was introduced into sustained release product containing indometacin to promote the advantage of this drug form. The material: Indometacin (China), avicel pH 101 (Taiwan), lactose (Holland), polyvinylpyrolidon (Holland), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (England)… The method: Pellet indometacin was prepared by layering method. The result: the optimal formulary to prepare sustained release pellet indometacin using layering method was selected. Coated pellet may be filled into the capsules shell or compressed into tablet having sustained release effect by oral (up to 12h)

Gel erythromycin 4% (type 10g) was compounded in 3 lot at Pharmacy Department of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy Can Tho. The method: Carring out test on 3 lot of product aim to build the criteria, each lot was tested minimum 3 times for criteria including apperance, vicosity, pH, particulate matter, weight uniformity, identification and assay. The result: The draft of test criteria for gel erythromycin was buitt to contribute introduce this subject into phamacopoeia. Additionaly, quantitative determination of erythromycin in the gel product was carried out by microbiological method

143 bacterial strains isolated in Vietnam for the cephalosporin C acylase activity. Among them, 116 strains showed growth on the LB plates containing cephalosporin and 28 strains did not grow. From 7 strains which grew very strongly on the LB plates containing cephalosporin C, 6 strains designated as 71, 91, DT3, M6, 03 and Tb23 were selected for further cultivation in the liquid culture medium and for determination of CA activity. The cell growth curves of these strain were very similar. The cell density reached a maximum at 24-30 hours of cultivation. Among three strains 71, DT3 and Tb23 evaluated for the CA activity, DT3 showed the highest CA activity. Thus, the strain DT3 was identified as Serratia marcescens sp. DT3. This is the first report about the Serratia strain producing CA enzyme

Study was performed on the preparation of taurine and some taurate salts in the bile of cow/ox from vissan but chery firm. Average weight of bile adder get 80 g for each. From ethamlanin and die thylcarbonate, 2- oxzolidinon was prepared, after the heating with hydrogene sulphide, taurine was obtained with a productivity of 67,15%. The investigation and extraction of taurine in laboratory scale gave a productivity of 64,5%. From taurine, calcium taurate was prepared at a productivity of 90% and magnesium taurate- 83,5%

From androst- 4,9(11)-dien-3,17-dion the synthesis of ethynylsteroid 17 alpha-pregn-11beta, 17-beta-diol-4-en-3-on20-yn was performed with a productivity of 68%. The 17 alpha-ethynylzition gave a productivity of 90%. The by product is 4% of 17 beta- ethynylization product. The chemical composition of Rhizoma Polygonati (RP) after processing was investigated. The result: All 4 process methods also procedure products no causing itch, black, sweet, soft, plastic. The chemical composition of unrefined Rhizoma Polygonati contained Alcaloid, Flavonoid, Sterol, Sugar, Iridoid glycosid, Amino acid and Fat. On the thin layer chromatograph, total alcaloid of Rhizoma Polygonati processed by a way had 4 spots, total flanoid had 4 spots, 1 spots of them cleare blue. The total sugar content of Rhizoma Polygonati processed by a way is 33,4% and of unrefined Rhizoma Polygonati is 12,63%. Both unrefined RP and processed RP also have 17 acid amin, among 7 essential acid amin for the body. The content of this acid amin of processed sample is usually higher than of unrefined sample
