The purpose of this study was to develop the computerized nursing diagnoses system for clinical application and activation of nursing diagnosis based on validity verification. In addition, our research team also performed system tests in clinical situations, to identify ways to improve the program and make it more practical. Nursing Diagnoses System will increase nurses' knowledge and experience of the application of nursing diagnoses in clinical situations and development of nursing interventions by nurses as well as the effectiveness of hospital computerized systems. We expect this system can contribute to an improvement in the quality of nursing care. Also we will continuously evaluate and revise the system related to the utilization of the program.

2.Development of Standardized Nursing Diagnosis/Intervention Protocol for Nutritional and Eliminative problems.
Journal of Korean Academy of Adult Nursing 2001;13(1):148-158
The purpose of this study was to develop a standardized Nursing Diagnosis/ Intervention Protocol through a literature review and validity testing. Seven nursing diagnoses were selected as major nursing diagnosis in the field of Nutritional and Eliminative problem. The nursing intervention list was made by an expert group's review of Nursing Intervention Classification(NIC) suggested nursing interventions. Nursing activities which were included in each nursing intervention were sorted to follow the nursing intervention process after review and revision. The expert group's validity testing was done twice using the Likert scale. As a result the Nursing Diagnosis/ Intervention Protocol for Nutritional and Eliminative Problems was made to include 7 Nursing Diagnoses, 51 Nursing Interventions and 631 Nursing Activities.

3.Clinical Nursing Process Model using a Database Linking System.
Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 2003;9(1):25-36
The purpose of this research was to develop the clinical nursing process model through linked nursing diagnoses, related factors, defining characteristics, nursing interventions, nursing activities and nursing outcomes and was to make graphic user interface using the clinical nursing process model. The linked clinical record sets in the developed database system were arranged in reverse order statistically in order to construct the clinical nursing process model from the patients' database tables concerning nursing diagnoses, related factors, defining characteristics, nursing interventions, nursing activities and nursing outcomes. The arranged clinical nursing record sets were suggested as the nursing process model in a general surgery clinical unit. The nursing process model of a general surgery clinical unit could be used for its accessibility as an indicator for other medical departments. The most available clinical nursing process data were presented on only one graphic user interface window to be able to select the nursing process easily for nurses in a general surgery clinical unit. Graphic user interface programming was designed to show all related factors, defining character stics, nursing interventions, nursing activities and nursing outcomes based on a nursing diagnosis which have unique properties. Using the clinical nursing process model in this database system, it was also possible to construct the electronic nursing record system.

Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 2001;7(1):35-43
This paper proposes a system for nursing diagnosis and intervention management that is using nursing outcome indicators to guide the nursing intervention. In Korea, it has been studied on computerization of nursing process, but most of the studies are on the management of nursing records and not on the databases of nursing intervention. So far, the actual nursing processes have been performed by individual nurses' judgement without any supporting programs. Therefore, we provide the system with standardized database for nursing diagnosis and interventions so that nurses can make more accurate diagnoses and perform more adequate interventions. For that purpose, we have developed an algorithm that links nursing outcome indicators to nursing diagnoses and interventions. As a result, we expect the system can be used in many hospitals efficiently in the future after pilot operations.

This study was conducted to investigate the nursing diagnosis applying to rehabilitation unit. The subject of this was consisted of 101 nurses who have been working over 1 year in rehabilitation unit. The clssification of nursing diag-nosis used NANDA's system and analysis of the validity was based on Fehring's model. In summury of this study, some dirrerences were found in related factors in nursing diagnosis between rehabilitation and general unit. Major re-lated factors of nursing diagnosis were physical factors associated with neuromuscular disorder. Valid related factors in altered nutrition: more than body requirements was not found for re-habitation unit. It is helpful for the nurses who work at re-habilitation unit to apply the nursing diagnosis validated in this study. This finding can be used as the database for accomplished nursing diag-nosis appropriate for improving the rehabilitation nursing practice.

6.Development and Effects of a Comprehensive Web-Based Nursing Process for Nursing Students.
Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamental Nursing 2011;18(4):497-505
PURPOSE: This study was conducted to develop a comprehensive web-based nursing process program to assist nursing students and to evaluate the effects of the program. METHODS: The system provides nursing students with guidelines based on NNN (NANDA, NOC, NIC) when the nursing students conduct a series of nursing procedures on diagnosis-outcome-intervention for a specific symptom. It also maintains and manages nursing processes actually conducted by students for clinical practices, and provides an environment where the patient information and nursing process can be converted into a formatted document for printing. This web-based program was used to surgical patients from April to June 2011. RESULTS: The overall satisfaction rate was 3.64. The item with the highest score was, 'Do you think a web-based nursing process program is necessary?' (3.87), followed by 'Do you want to use this program when you become a nurse and implement the nursing process?' (3.33). CONCLUSION: These results indicate that implementation of web-based programs needs to be continued as an effective tool, but more research is needed on the best way to implement web-based programs in various clinical setting.

Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 2002;8(2):1-10
The nursing process, composed of diagnosis, intervention and outcome, is practical and scientific approach. In addition, many studies on the nursing process have been performed. However, the nursing process has not applied to clinical fields. Therefore, we developed a nursing information system that supports nurses nursing diagnosis and intervention management. This system provides expected nursing diagnoses and interventions for subjective patients automatically so that nurses can make more accurate diagnoses and perform more adequate interventions. For that purpose, we have analyzed the relations of medical diagnoses and standardized nursing classifications and developed the outputs into a database system. In this study, we performed clinical tests for the system and verify the usefulness of the system with case database accumulated through the tests. We expect the system can be used in many hospitals efficiently after some upgrade based on the results of this study is completed.

8.A Study of the Classification of Nursing Diagnoses.
Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamental Nursing 1997;4(1):119-132
This study was conducted to analyze the nursing diagnoses applied for case studies of nursing students through their clinical practices, and to provide the educational basis of nursing diagnosed with its results. The data were collected for two years(1995 and 1996) from 70 case studies reported by the 2nd and 3rd year nursing junior college students. The students made 259 nursing diagnoses among which 230 diagnoses qualified NANDA classification and were taken for analysis. The results of the analysis were as follows : 1. The number of diagnoses indicating response patterns was 35(35.7%), whereas 98 diagnoses in NANDA table . Among the 35 diagnoses, the pattern of exchange was most frequent, then feeling, moving, knowing in rank. 2. The diagnoses were analyzed in the categories of response patterns. For Instance, 'Altered in Nutrition' was most frequent in exchange, then Risk for Infection', 'Ineffective Airway Clearance', in rank. 3. Among 230 diagnoses, 'Knowledge Deficit' was most frequently mentioned, then 'Activity Intolerance' 'Anxiety' 'Pain' 'Altered in Nutrition', Risk for Infection, 'Ineffective airway clearance', in rank. 4. The types of word expression of each diagnoses were various, 'Activity Intolerance' was expressed in 6 types. 5. The relating factors applied to each diagnosis were analyzed. For Instance, the relating factor of 'Knowledge Deficit' were illness, and therapeutic process, lack of motivation, occurrence of complication, short experience, operation, and so on. From the above study, the researcher would like to recommend as follows : 1) The current diagnoses need to be verified its content validity, when they are applied to our culture. 2) The most effective educational method for applying nursing diagnoses should be explored. 3) Further study could be focused on not only ' relating factors' but also 'sign and symptoms'.
