Irradiation of N2 laser on the experimental burn wound has shown that the number of inflammatory cells (neutrophil and macrophage) was decreased, the proliferation of fibroblast and the neovascularization occurred, the activation of mitosis was strongly increased at 3rd day and decreased gradually at 7th, 14th day. These results have demonstrated the anti-inflammation effects and ability to promote the regeneration processes both rate and quality of nitrogen laser.

This study was performed on the rabbit skin using CO2laser. Rabbits were divided into 6 batches to receive CO2 laser with settings 5w to 8w, 1 - 2mm spots and 0.1s pulse to continuous waves. The results showed that thermal damages varied from 207m in 8A batches (8w, 1mm, 0.1s) to 817m in 5D batches (5w, 2mm, CW). The crater of the laser impact site in 8w, 1mm, 0.1s batch is cleaner and sharper then that in other batches

20 healthy male students from 20-25 years of age were studied on the changes of peripheral blood indexes after the exact Hegu laser He-Ne irradiation with intensity 130 mW/cm2 for 2 minutes/point. 10 (changed most clearly) of 20 these students were irradiated laser outside the Hegu (1cm far from the Hegu) as the control group. Before irradiating, after laser 10, 30 minutes, vein blood was taken to investigate the following indexes: RBC, WBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, PLT, NEUT/1, LYMPH/1, MDX/1, RDW-SD, MPV, P-LCR. The results showed that PLT, WBC, LYMPH/1 reduced markly after 10, 30 minutes (p<0.05); there were no differences of the other (RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, NEUT/1, RDW-SD, PDW, P-LCR) between before and after laser irradiation. There was no differences between before and after outside-Hegu laser He-Ne irradiation; the time when the peripheral blood indexes changed more clearly is at the 30th minute after irradiating.

Photoacoustic imaging (PAI) is a newly emerging imaging modality for preclinical and clinical applications. The conventional PAI systems use Q-switched Nd:YAG/OPO (Optical Parametric Oscillator) nanosecond lasers as excitation sources. Such lasers are expensive, bulky, and imaging speed is limited because of low pulse repetition rate. In recent years, the semiconductor laser technology has advanced to generate high-repetitions rate near-infrared pulsed lasers diodes (PLDs) which are reliable, less-expensive, hand-held, and light-weight, about 200 g. In this article, we review the development and demonstration of PLD based PAI systems for preclinical and clinical applications reported in recent years.

Submerged implants require secondary surgical uncovering of implants after healing period of 3 - 6 months. In surgical methods, there are surgical scalpel, tissue punch, electro-surgical, and laser-used uncovering, and laser-used uncovering, and so forth. The objectives of this study are investigation and assessment of 1) thermal change in clinical application for uncovering of HA-coated implant and pure titanium implant irradiated by pulsed Nd-YAG. CO2, and Er-YAG laser. 2) surface change of cover screws after irradiation using laser energy. The temperature of apex & side wall of implants were recorded at 10sec, 20sec, 30sec after 30sec irradiation to implant healing screw; 1) pulsed Nd-YAG laser; 2W, 20pps, contact mode 2) CO2 laser; water-infused & non-water infused state, 2.5-3.5W, contibuous mode, noncontact mode 3) CO2 laser; non-water-infused state, 3W, superpulse, noncontact mode 4) Er-YAG laser; (1) non-water infused state, 10pps, 60mj, contact mode (2) water-infused state, 10pps, 60mj, 80mj, 101mj, contact mode According to the results of this study, pulsed Nd-YAG laser is not indicated because of increase thermal change and pitting of metal surface of implant cover screw. By contrast, CO2 laser & Er-YAG laser are presumed to indicate because of narrow range of thermal change & near abscence of thermal damage of metal surface. Dental laser is thought to be much helpful to surgical procedure when it is used as optimal power and time condition considering characteristics and indications of each laser. Further research is needed to verify that these techniques are safe and beneficial to implant success.

58 cases including 46 females aged from 27-61 and 12 males subjects aged from 40-78) underwent a fat tissue removal through conjunctive using CO2 laser. X-ray images were made before and 7-8 days after operation. 15 subjects was given 10mg diazepam orally before the operation. Results showed: no severe complication (such as optic nerve atrophy and blind, diplopia, infection, chronic blepharitis, pathological scar… In 7th day, the incision was completely closed. Transient complications such as bluish black in eye area occurred in 10 among 15 subjects underwent removal fat tissues of the lower lip in combining with plastic operation on the upper lip. Edema occurred in most of cases. There was uncomfortable feeling in the eyes lasting 2-3 first days after the operation. Intervention made most of patients satisfied.
