Aims: An ecological study was conducted to investigate the diversity pattern of the lactic acid bacteria in the
gastrointestinal tract of Cemani chicken, a native Indonesian chicken, using a molecular approach based on 16S rRNA
genes.
Methodology and results: Digesta samples of seven chickens were collected for terminal restriction fragment length
polymorphism (T-RFLP) analysis. The molecular diversity of lactic acid bacteria in crop, ventriculus, ileum and cecum
were determined. The results showed that microbial composition of lactic acid bacteria in cecum was relatively different
with other upper gastrointestinal tract. Lactic acid bacteria phylotypes and diversity in ileum were higher than those in
the crop, ventriculus, and cecum.
Conclusion, significance and impact of study: We confirmed that cecum of native chicken has a different
environment as compared to other gastrointestinal regions showing the lowest value of the Sorensen’s index. This first
report of LAB diversity pattern in Cemani chicken contributes a more comprehensive understanding of the microbial
ecology in the chicken.

4.Upper Gastrointestinal Stent.

Clinical Endoscopy 2012;45(4):386-391
Gastrointestinal (GI) stent has been developed for palliation of obstructive symptoms in various diseases causing obstruction of GI tract. Self-expanding metal stent (SEMS) has replaced old type of plastic stent, and endoscopic insertion of stent has replaced fluoroscopy-guided insertion. Nowadays, newly-designed SEMSs have been developed for prevention of complications such as stent migration and re-obstruction, and indications of stent recently have been widened into benign conditions as well as malignant obstruction. In this review, the types, method of insertion, indications and clinical outcomes of stent in the upper GI tract would be discussed.

8.To evaluate the effect of some intervention methods in preventing worm in intestinal tract diseases in children at some communes of Thai Binh province
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;458(8):45-48
Survey 459 children 3-14 years old of age lived in Quynh Trang and Dong Giang communes of Thai Binh province. All subjects were divided into 2 groups: 1 group received simple intervention and 1 group received combined treatment with communication and education of health, hygiene. Results: the rate of infection of ascaris, Trichuris trichiura, and Ankylostoma in children of 2 communes were very high, especially infection of ascaris and Trichuris trichiura. Albendazole was very effective with Ankylostoma and ascaris, but less effective with Trichuris trichiura. Intensity of infections after interventions were significantly lower than before interventions

9.A case of eelworm infection in digestive tract: clinical characteristic, diagnosis and treatment
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;466(11):29-30
A case of strongyloides stercoralis gastrointestinalis infection on a 88 years old of age women was admitted in Hospital No108 in the year 2003. The main symptoms were diarrhoea, anemia and abdominal pain. Fecal examination, gastroduodenal fluid and duodenal biopsy were performed. Strongyloides stercoralis and their larva were detected. Thiabendazole was defined was a treatment of choice

10.Comment on 42 cases of colorectal cancer
Journal of Practical Medicine 2000;383(6):46-47
Colorectal cancer is one of three leading cancer of gastrointestinal tract. Medical records of 42 patients with colorectal cancer who underwent operation at Hospital No175 between 2/1994 and 2/1999 were investigated retrospectively. The disease mainly has been seen in over 30-year patients. Endoscopy diagnosed 94.4% of patients, while that for X-rays is 79.4%. The patients were operated depending on the location of tumor. Surgical wound infection occurred in 31% and anastomotic fistula occurred in 4.7%. There was no death post-operation
