Granular parakeratosis is a recently recognized disorder of keratinization that is usually confined to intertriginous areas. The histopathologic features are distinctive and diagnostic. Rarely, histopathologic variants such as follicular granular parakeratosis and granular parakeratosis of eccrine ostia have been described. In this report, we describe a rare case of granular parakeratosis mostly confined to eccrine ostia.

2.A Case of Apocrine Poroma with Follicular and Sebaceous Differentiation.

A poroma is usually described as a benign neoplasm arising from ductal epithelium of eccrine gland. However, in recent years there have been several reports on poromas featuring with combined sebaceous, follicular, and ductal differentiation, and thus establishment of this separate disease entity, "apocrine poroma" may well be justified considering the common embryologic origin of folliculosebaceous-apocrine unit. In our case, the tumor presented as a dark red nodule on the pubic area, being revealed as poroid neoplasm with folliculosebaceous components embedded in the lobules. Immunohistochemically, poroid cells stained with lysozyme. Taking the immunohistochemical staining results as well as the histopathologic findings of folliculosebaceous differentiation into consideration, we have concluded that this tumor is a case of an "apocrine poroma".

Eccrine porocarcinoma is a very rare, locally-aggressive, potentially fatal, malignant cutaneous neoplasm that arises from the intraepithelial ductal portion of the eccrine sweat gland. Eccrine porocarcinoma may develop either spontaneously or from a longstanding benign eccrine poroma. Herein, we describe two cases of eccrine porocarcinoma and review the related literature.

4.A Clinical and Histopathological Study of Tattoos : II . A Histopathological Study.

Twenty six individuals with tattoos, who were seen during physical examination for conscription from Febrary to May, 1985, were biopsied for a histopatholigical study of tattoos. The results were as follows ; 1. There was perivascular deposition of pigment in all cases. 2. There cases showed deposition only in the upper dermis. 3. Six cases showed deposition in the upper and lower dermis. 4. Five cases showed deposition around the eccrine glands and two around the sebaceous glands. 5. Six cases showed mild lymphohistiocytic infiltrations in the dermis. 6. There was no difference in size of the particles regardless of infiltrated areas and tattoo materials.

5.A Case of Eccrine Nevus.

Eccrine nevi are very rare cutaneous lesions which may or may not be accompanied by localized hyperhidrosis. Histological findings usually reveal a slightly increased number of eccrine glands without any other abnormalities. Herein we present a case of eccrine nevus not associated with localized hyperhidrosis on the left wrist of a 6-year-old girl. The lesion was a brownish, ovoid plaque approximately 1.0 x 1.5 cm in size, with a hyperkeratotic, slightly scaly papule in the center. It was treated by surgical excision.

6.A Case of Eccrine Chromhidriosis.

Chromhidriosis or the production of colored sweat is a rare clinical finding. Several dyes, when injected intravenously, have been shown to be secreted in eccrine gland, but in most cases the sweat is colored in skin surface, resulting from the contamination by dyes, pigment from microorganisms, or other chemicals. We report a case of eccrine chromhidriosis which revealed blue-green spots on palms, soles, buttocks, and back.

7.A Case of Eccrine Angiomatous Hamartoma in Neurofibromatosis Type-1 Patient.

Eccrine angiomatous hamartoma (EAH) is a rare, benign lesion characterized by an abnormal dermal proliferation of eccrine glands and vascular channels. It generally presents as a single asymptomatic nodule or plaque associated with pain or hyperhidrosis. It may be congenital or appear later in childhood. Thus far, there is only one case report of EAH arising in a American patient with known Neurofibromatosis type-1 (NF-1). We describe a second case of EAH in NF-1 patient and suggest some possibilities for the association of EAH with NF.

8.Research advances on the regulatory mechanism of sweat secretion ion channels of eccrine sweat glands.

Sweat glands are widely distributed in human skin, among which eccrine sweat glands play major roles in heat dissipation and sweat secretion. Sweat secretion is mainly regulated by nervous system and includes two processes of secretion of secretory coil and reabsorption of sweat duct, involving various ion channels and proteins such as calcium ion channel, potassium ion channel, sodium-potassium-chloride co-transporter 1, Best2 protein, aquaporin 5, cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator, and epithelial sodium ion channel. This paper reviews the nerve conduction system and various ion channels involved in sweat secretion of exocrine sweat glands in order to provide a theoretical basis for the study of regeneration, repair, and transformation of stem cells.

9.A Case of Eccrine Porocarcinoma on Back.

PURPOSE: Eccrine porocarcinoma is a very rare, potentially fatal tumor which arises from the intraepidermal portion of the eccrine sweat ductal apparatus. It does not have a characteristic clinical feature but does have a high incidence of metastasis. It may be developed de novo or in a preexisting benign eccrine poroma. It usually affects older people and is located most commonly on lower extremities. We report a rare case of eccrine porocarcinoma which developed on the back without metastasis. METHODS: The patient was a 94-year-old woman who showed a painful, ulcerated, dark brown colored polypoid 3.5x3.0cm sized mass on the back for 3 years. We totally excised the lesion including normal tissue. RESULTS: After wide excision of the lesion, pathologist reported an eccrine porocarcinoma. Histopathologic findings reveal that the classic type of eccrine gland carcinoma, eccrine porocarcinoma. Immunocytochemical studies showed a positive reactivity to anti-EMA antibody and anti-CEA antibody. CONCLUSION: Authors experienced a rare case of primary eccrine porocarcinoma on the back. Because of the propensity to develop local recurrence, wide excision of the primary tumor with histologic confirmation of negative margins represents the only curative treatment regimen for eccrine porocarcinoma.

Malignant eccrine poroma is a rare skin appendageal tumor arising from the intraepidermal ductal portion of the eccrine sweat gland. It may develop either spontaneously or from a long-standing eccrine poroma. It usually affects the aged and is located most commonly on lower extremities. We report a case of malignant eccrine poroma occurring on the suprapubic area of a 75-year-old Korean man. He underwent wide excision and flap coverage.
