Medical Journal of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (Med J PUMCH in short) , hosted by Chinese Academy of Medical Science(CAMS) and Peking Union Medical College Hospital(PUMCH), is a peer-reviewed open access journal and publishes bimonthly in Chinese.Med J PUMCH is a multidisciplinary academic journal which focuses on clinical medicine, aiming to report the cutting-edge medical researches, clinical practice standards, promote scholastic communication in medicine, and benefit patients care ultimately.The following aspects are stated objectively for your ease to do evaluation:
1.Distinctive Feature of Comprehensive Medicine
Since 2018, Med J PUMCH has positioned its feature on multidisciplinary collaboration. Each issue focuses on one frontier and leading topic,and invites authoritative experts from different areas to publish reviews and previews.Artificial Intelligence and Medical Imaging,Infection and Shock, Neuroendocrine Neoplasia, and other 30 representative topics make the feature of the journal more and more distinctive.
2.Special Columns
Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH in short) is a well-known international hospital with a long history and a strong cultural background. PUMCH focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of difficult rare diseases, as well as medical teaching and scientific research.Based on PUMCH, we set up Complicated and Rare Disease, History of Medicine, Teaching and Research,and other several special columns,which make the journal more special.
3.Close Attention to the Public Health Emergencies
Med J PUMCH timely organized the series of Prevention and Control of COVID-19, which show the journal’s academic value and social responsibility. Besides, the journal has been included in WHO’s Global Literature on Coronavirus Disease, which provide many China’s experiences in fighting against COVID-19 for the global medical institutions.
4.Unique Hand-painted Cover
Since 2019, Med J PUMCH has set up a cover hand-painted team with medical students of Peking Union Medical College as the main members.The hand-painted cover created on the frontier and leading topic not only reflect the academic connotation, but also form the unique style of the journal.
5.International Editorial Board Team
ZHAO Yu-pei, Honorary President of PUMCH, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is Med J PUMCH’s present Editor-in-Chief, with deep academic background and extensive influence, who has been spending enormous time and stamina on Med J PUMCH’s development. The editorial board team has continuously added some famous international editors, who have very high enthusiasm to the development of the journal.
6.Wide Regional Distribution of the Published Articles
The regional distribution of the journal’s published articles spans across 25 different provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China and many overseas countries, such as America and Canada.
7.Increased international influence
The journal started to be covered by the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) since 2019, Scopus and DOAJ since 2021, which is greatly increasing international visibility for journals.
Since 2019, Med J PUMCH signed the cooperative agreement with TrendMD, a world’s leading scholarly content discovery and distribution platform, to promote its international dissemination and visibility. In 2019 alone, more than 1700 international readers were attracted from different academic platforms, including but not limited to those of such world well-known journals as JAMA, BMJ and Blood, to read Med J PUMCH’s articles.
In addition, Med J PUMCH’s Compound Impact Factor, released by CNKI annually, is 1.593 now, increased consecutively.
8.Honor and Award
Med J PUMCH has won “100 Excellent Papers of Chinese Medical Association”Award for many times. The journal been honored as “Most Beautiful Journal of China”.
Chinese authorities pay high attention on the development of Chinese academic journals, and put forward the general policy to cultivate the first-class scientific journals in 2018. Med J PUMCH has fully taken the good opportunity for further development and got improved quickly to high quality.
