Abstract: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a poor-prognosis disease. Stem cells may be the only treatment that can promote the repair and reconstruction of damaged lungs through secreting exosomes. Exosomes play crucial roles in anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptosis, anti-oxidation, inhibiting pulmonary fibrosis and promoting regeneration of damaged lung tissues, which are expected to be a new candidate for the prevention and treatment of BPD. This article reviews the research progress in the treatment of BPD with exosomes.
