Effect of Rehabilitation Training on Patients after Total Hip Arthroplasty

Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of rehabilitation training on the patients after total hip arthroplasty (THA).Methods 42 THA patients were divided into the rehabilitation training group (28 cases) and control group (14 cases) according to whether receiving systemic rehabilitation training. All patients of two groups were received same basic therapy, but the cases of the rehabilitation training group were adde with systemic rehabilitation training. Scores of Harris were assessed in 1 week before operation, and 2 weeks, 3rd month and 6th month after operation. The dislocation and deep vein thrombus (DVT) were also observed. Results The scores of Harris 1 week before operation and 2 weeks after operation were not different between two groups; at the 3rd month and 6th month, the scores of the patients in the rehabilitation training group were higher than those of the control group ( P<0.05). There were fewer complication such as dislocation and DVT in the rehabilitation training group.Conclusion Rehabilitation training is very important for the THA patients to recover the function and prevent form complications.
