Abstract:
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of holistic nursing care by nurses in operation room on post-operative rehabilitation of patients with cerebral palsy accepting selective posterior rhizotomy.MethodsThe retrospective study was performed to compare the difference of pre-operative Rate Pressure Product (RPP) and post-operative Pain-Relieving Drug Request (PRDR), Incidence of Urinary Retention (IUR) after the removal of urinary catheter, and Starting Time for Rehabilitation Training (STRT) between patients with cerebral palsy accepting selective posterior rhizotomy under common nursing care and holistic nursing care by nurses in operation room.ResultsPre-operative RPP and post-operative PRDR, IUR, and STRT in the group of patients under holistic nursing care by nurses in operation room were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).ConclusionThe holistic nursing care by nurses in operation room can effectively reduce patients' fear to the operation, decrease undesirable factors and facilitate the advanced rehabilitation training as early as possible.
