- Abstract: Pruritus in atopic dermatitis (AD) is typical non-histaminergic itch involving complex nerve pathways. A variety of cytokines and neuropeptides, skin barrier dysfunction and skin microbiome imbalance are also involved in the generation and transmission of itching-relatd signals. This review focuses on main research progress in the pathogenesis and treatment of pruritus in AD in recent years.
