Abstract:
The application of erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet(Er∶YAG)laser, neodymium-doped yttrium-aluminum garnet(Nd∶YAG)laser and diode laser in the treatment of periodontitis has been increasing in recent years, but there is controversy about the efficacy of laser in non-operative treatment of periodontitis.This paper mainly describes the features and advantages of Er∶YAG laser, Nd∶YAG laser and diode laser in non-surgical periodontal treatment, and provides advice on the selection of laser types in dental treatment and insights on the treatment of periodontitis in elderly patients with common chronic diseases.
