Abstract: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) now has become a disease threatening people′s health, but there is no effective treatment for it at present,so early prevention and control of risk factors of NAFLD is particularly important. Hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia are associated with the risk of NAFLD;in recent years serum uric acid has also been recognized as a risk factor for NAFLD;however,there is a gender discrepancy in its impact on NAFLD. This article reviews the relevant research progress in recent years to elaborate the effect of serum uric acid on NAFLD in different genders.
