Abstract:
We performed the combined cataract extraction and cyclodialysis for the secondary angle-closure glaucoma due to the intumescent cataract in 13 consecutive eyes. We achieved clinically significant lowering of intraocular pressure following the combined procedures in all operated eyes. The mean reduction of the intraocular pressure was 43.6mmHg. All the operated eyes maintained normal range of intra-ocular pressure for the average follow-up period of 8.3 months. We concluded that the combined cataract extraction and cyclodialysis for the secondary angle-closure glaucoma due to the intumescent cataract was a safe and effective procedure.
