- Abstract: Vascular complications related to hip arthroplasty are common, however, total occlusion of a critical artery that threatens survival of an extremity is extremely rare. We report on a patient who had thrombotic arterial occlusions at the iliac and popliteal arteries following hemiarthroplasty of the hip.
