- Abstract: Tissue-resident memory T (T RM) cells are derived from stimulated naive T cells and reside in peripheral tissues, mediating rapid immune responses of the host to similar stimuli. Although this immune response helps protect the host against local infections, long-term residence of T RM cells in the skin can lead to repeated attacks of autoimmune-related skin diseases such as vitiligo. This review summarizes the relationship between T RM cells and vitiligo as well as potential therapeutic targets.
