- Abstract: In order to standardize the dermoscopic criteria for non-neoplastic dermatoses, experts from the International Dermoscopy Society have established "standardization of dermoscopic terminology and basic dermoscopic parameters to evaluate in general dermatology (non-neoplastic dermatoses) : an expert consensus on behalf of the International Dermoscopy Society" . The consensus defined 5 standardized basic parameters and 31 subitems, including vessels (morphology and distribution) , scales (color and distribution) , follicular findings, "other structures" (color and morphology) and "specific clues" , and summarized their previous nomenclature, corresponding histological findings and the main dermatoses involved. The authors explain and elaborate this consensus in order to provide a reference for defining relevant Chinese dermoscopic terminology and basic parameters in the future, and to better standardize the application of dermoscopy in general dermatology.
