Abstract:
The friendship between Islamic Republic of Pakistan (Pakistan) and China has been long. The TCM treatment in Pakistan mainly contains comprehensive diagnosis, not limited to acupuncture and supplemented by Chinese Materia Medica. The favorable factors for the development lie in the support of the local government and the popularity among the public, the common features of traditional medical systems of the two countries, the efficacies of traditional Chinese medicine treatment, and the opportunities came along by the application of traditional Chinese medicine. The development dilemma lies in the partial introduction of traditional Chinese medicine, preference for local traditional medicines among the public, as well as Chinese doctors' language and cultural barriers. The development of traditional Chinese medicine in Pakistan can be promoted by enhancing medical and educational cooperation, strengthening cooperation with non-governmental organizations, and expanding the impact of traditional Chinese medicine on the local Chinese community.
