Abstract:
The incidence of lung cancer is the highest in malignant tumors worldwide, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for 80%-85% of the total of lung cancer. Surgery is still the first choice for the treatment of NSCLC. Therefore, accurate preoperative staging and prognostic evaluation are essential. A series of semi-quantitative parameters, including maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), peak standardized uptake value (SUVpeak), mean standardized uptake value (SUVmean), metabolic tumor volume (MTV) as well as total lesion glycolysis (TLG), which assessed on 18F-FDG PET/CT, are convinced as a group of factors with important value for prognostic evaluation of NSCLC. The prognostic role of above glucose metabolic quantitative parameters in recent clinical application of NSCLC were reviewed in this article.
