Abstract:
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of drug-coated balloon (DCB) for treating common femoral artery lesions. Methods: Eleven patients of single common femoral artery lesions treated with DCB were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Among 11 cases, there were 7 cases of common femoral artery occlusion and 4 cases of severe stenosis, including 9 cases of primary lesions and 2 cases of in-stent restenosis, common femoral artery alone in 6 cases, and common femoral artery disease involved superficial femoral artery in 5 cases. The technical success rate was 100%. No treatment-related complication was observed. No death occurred within 30 days after operation. Ten patients were followed up, and 12-month primary patency rate was 85.75%. No target lesion reconstruction was performed, while 2 patients underwent major amputation. Rutherford categories and ankle brachial index (ABI) values were significantly improved on 12-month follow-up compared with those before operation (both P< 0.05). Conclusion: DCB has good short-term efficacy and high safety for treatment of common femoral artery lesions.
