Abstract:
Characterized by significant and low mood, depression is an important disease which threatens the health of human beings. Nowadays, PET and PET/CT have become effective tools to study depression. By dynamically observing the physiological and biochemical changes of substance metabolism, local blood flow and receptor density in the brain of patients with depression, PET and PET/CT can provide objective basis for exploring the pathogenesis, pathophysiological characteristics and evaluation of treatment responses of depression. The research status and progresses of PET and PET/CT in depression were reviewed in this paper.
