Abstract:
Dialysis-related amyloidosis (DRA) is one of the serious complications in long-term dialysis patients. DRA often causes progressive damage to the bone and joint system, which seriously affects the follow-up treatment and quality of life of the patients. At present, the diagnosis of DRA mainly depends on the clinical symptoms and signs of the patients, but there is still lack of objective methods for the observation of the location of the lesion and the assessment of the severity of the disease. The imaging method is helpful for DRA screening, in which ultrasound imaging is very sensitive to the display of most musculoskeletal systems and has a natural advantage in the evaluation of local lesions. The progresses of ultrasonic imaging technology in DRA diagnosis was reviewed in this paper.
