Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: To study the tissue distribution of daphnoretin in rats. METHODS: A single dose of 12 mg · kg-1 daphnoretin was administered to healthy SD rats via intraperitoneal injection (ip). The blood and tissues of heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, stomach, small intestine, and brain were acquired at 5, 45 or 120 min after administration. The concentrations of daphnoretin in plasma and tissue samples were determined by HPLC. RESULTS: After a single ip dose of 12 mg · kg-1 daphnoretin in rats, daphnoretin was mainly distributed in stomach and spleen. The concentrations of daphnoretin in other tissues and plasma were low. CONCLUSION: This present investigation on daphnoretin tissue distribution provides important information to further study and clinic use of daphnoretin.
