- Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To summarize the research progress on chemical constituent and chemical analysis of Dendrobium officinale. METHODS: The literatures published in the last decade were searched and reviewed. RESULTS: D. officinale mainly contains polysaccharides, stilbenes, lignans and phenols. Fingerprint analysis, monosaccharide composition analysis of polysaccharide, and multivariate statistical analysis could help in the identification and the quality evaluation of D. officinale. CONCLUSION: It is imperative to determine the low-molecular effective components of D. officinale. Multi-component analysis should be beneficial to perfect the quality evaluation system for D. officinale.
