- Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To summarize the number, types, and acceptance rate of pharmacist interventions in parenteral nutrition (PN) in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). METHODS: The pharmacist intervention in parenteral nutrition in NICU from May 1, 2014 to April 30, 2015 were summarized. RESULTS: There were 156 interventions in parenteral nutrition and the overall acceptance rate was 90.1%. The most frequent intervention was adjusting regimen. The top three types of accepted intervention were usage (100%), changing dose (95.2%), and adding medication (92.3%). CONCLUSION: Interventions in parenteral nutrition demonstrate the unique perspectiveand importance of pharmacists in NICU.
