The test group undertook yoga exerciseonce a week (two hours each time) for 10 weeks m addition to ordmary rmlitary exercises; the control group only undertook ordmary rmlitary exercise. The light, body mass, body mass mdex (BMI), fat rate, basal metabolic rate (bioelectcical lmpedance), flexibllity (forward split, cross split and stand trunk bendmg), and anxiety level (mternationally acknowledged Slit-Rating Anxiety Scale [SAS]) were determmed and compared between the two groups before and after trammg. And the effect of yoga exercise on the physical and mental qualities of students was analyzed. Resulis After ten weeks' of trammg, the SAS scores were cigniCicanfly decreased m both groups (P<0. 01), and that of the test group was cigniCicanfly lower than that of the control group (P<0. 01). The BMI and fat rate were cigniCicanfly decreased m the two groups after trammg (P< 0. 01) and the test group had a better body flexlbllity than the control group. Conclusion Yoga exercise trammg can help to relieve mental pressure and lmprove the overall physical and mental qualities of students m military umvercities, and it is feacible to popularize it m military academies.
