- Abstract: With the wide use of bisphosphonates in bone diseases such as osteoporosis and bone metastases of malignant tumors, bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw has gained widely attention as a severe side effect. Animal model is a useful way to study bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, among which rat model is used most usually. This article reviewed the establishment of rat model of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw and relevant examinations.
