Effectiveness mindfulness cognitive therapy intervention on sleep quality of college graduates with depression

Abstract:
Objective:To understand the effectiveness of mindfulness cognitive therapy on the sleep quality of college graduates with depression in Zhengzhou, and to provide support for sleep quality and mental health promotion.
Methods:A total of 4 134 seniors from 4 colleges and universities in Zhengzhou were randomly selected and were administered with Depression Self-rating Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Assessment, five Facet Mindfulnes Questionaire, biofeedback test, 92 students with depression and sleep disorders were selected and received. 8-week experimental intervention on mindfulness cognitive therapy. Results were compared before and after intervention.
Results:After the intervention of 8 weeks of cognitive therapy in the depression quality of college graduates from Zhengzhou college, the scores of depression, sleep score, beta wave, BVP, myoelectricity and skin electrical index were significantly lower,the a wave,θ waye were increased after the intervention of the experimental group(t=2.10, 4.95, 17.53, 3.72, 24.43, 17.62,-24.16,-29.26,P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the scores of the control group before and after intervention(t=-0.06, 1.44, -0.53, -0.77, -0.06, 0.75, 1.28, -0.70, P>0.05). There were no significant differences in depression tendency and sleep quality between the control group before and after intervention(χ2=2.04, 1.01, P>0.05). There were statistical significance in the experimental group(χ2=18.00, 13.85, P<0.05).
Conclusion:Mindfulness cognitive therapy shows effectiveness in sleep improvement among senior college students with depression in Zhengzhou City.
