- Abstract: Although myocardial ischemic condition can be improved by reperfusion therapy, the sequent myocardial ischemiareperfusion injury may associate with the adverse outcomes in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. In the recent years, several therapies, such as ischemia preconditioning and ischemia postconditioning, have been proven effective in animal experiments and have been widely incorporated into clinical trials for the reduction of ischemia/reperfusion injury. Based on the previous clinical evidences, we review the study progress of ischemia conditioning in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction for optimizing the management of acute myocardial infarction.
