Abstract: With global epidemic of obesity and metabolic syndrome, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) has becoming the most common cause of abnormal liver tests and chronic liver disease in the world including China. The editorial is focused on the clinical dilemmas of NAFLD, with the latest and most critical information regarding the pathogenesis and nature of the condition, the factors that lead to disease progression, how best to diagnosis and assess value of currently available different treatment measures.
