Abstract:
This report presents a case of postoperative candidiasis as a complication of a stomach cancer operation. There are various and many complications in stomach surgery, but candidiasis is a very rare one and its diagnosis is difficult. The treatment for systemic candidiasis is systemic administration of Amphotericin B. Recently, oral fluconazole has been used and is efficient with rare toxicity. We have experienced a case of postoperative candidiasis after a stomach cancer operation and treated the patient with fluconazole. We report this case to arouse the attention of other surgeons.
