Abstract:
Osteoporosis is often considered as a disease of the aging.In recent years, osteoporosis in children is increasingly recognized.Glucocorticoid (GC) is the most common factor for this disease, GC exposure during the pedia-tric age, in particular during the adolescent growth spurt, can significantly does harm to normal bone development and increases the risk of fracture, pain and disability, impairing the quality of life.Now, the recent advances on glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP) are discussed, and the importance of attention to GIOP in children is raised.
