Abstract: Bacterial meningitis is a common infectious disease of central nervous system in children.Timely, effective, adequate, and sufficient course of antibiotics therapy is the key to reduce mortality rate and incidence of sequelae, and improve prognosis.Starting reasonable empirical antimicrobial therapy according to the onset ages, clinical situation, and drug resistance status, and obtaining the evidence of pathogens timely to start effectively target treatment, optimizing the therapeutic scheme based on pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic theory, strengthening pharmaceutical care, play vital roles in effectively controlling infection and eliminating pathogens, improving prognosis and reducing bacterial drug resistance.
