Abstract:
Interferons(IFN)have antiviral, immunomodulation and other biological functions.Viruses are the major causes of asthma exacerbations, which may be related to deficiencies of interferons in asthmatic patients in response to viral infection and impaired antiviral immune response.Adjuvant interferons treatment would be beneficial to some asthma phenotypes, which provide a new approach for asthma treatments. This review mainly focuses on the biological functions, relationships with asthma and the potential adjuvant treatment significance of interferons.
