Abstract:
Objective ] To apply the fetal weight formula in calculation of fetal weight reference value in Jing'an District of Shanghai . [ Methods ] According to the new reference tool proposed by Zhang Jun et al for assessment of fetal growth , data were collected from 1 ,091 full-term children of Jing'an District.And the average birth weight of 294 forty weeks gestation babies of the total was used as the basic data for making reference value .The new reference value obtained by calculation and the actual investiga-tion value by the team were listed and compared with the average fetal weight of each gestational age in 15 cities nation-wide in 1988 and the 10th and 90th percentile data. [Results] The weight data of each ges-tational age from new reference value conform to those of actual survey data , and are slightly higher than those of the 15-cities.The new reference broken down by sex also conforms to those of actual survey data . [ Conclusion] The fetal-weight calculation formula can be verified and widely used in creation of birth weight reference in various regions .
