Abstract:
The staging of bladder tumor is most important for treatment and prognosis. A new ultrasonic scanning device has been developed for preoperative staging of bladder tumor Transurethral ultrasound scanning was done with rotating 5.5 MHz transducer in our Departrnent of urology since March in 1985 of 21 cases with bladder tumor. 65% of these were complete agreement with pathologic findings in staging. Computerized tomography were used to treatment 20 patients with bladder tumor. The correlation between ultrasound and pathologic findings showed that local staging of bladder tumor is possible by transurethral ultrasonographic scanning.
