Abstract:
Calciueurin inhibitors (CNIs),as a class of immunosuppressive agents, have been widely used in kidney diseases, rheumatic immune diseases and organ transplantation, and their curative effects are remarkable. However, its side effects including nephrotoxicity, hyperglycemia, and high blood pressure have also attracted people's attention. In recent years, the application of CNIs has been closely related to the occurrence of various pancreatic diseases, such as hyperglycemia, pancreatitis, diabetes, etc. But the specific mechanism has not been fully elucidated. The study found that CNIs have important effects on pancreatic tissue, ultrastructure, and function of islet cell and insulin resistance. The researchers believe that CNIs are involved in the expression of regulatory factors such as incretin, cytosolic nuclear factor of activated T cells,CREB-regulated transcription coactivator, and calcium overload, which regulate the structure and function of islet β-cells.Unusual expression leads to changes in a variety of pathological conditions. This article reviews the relationship between CNIs and pancreatic injury and related mechanisms.
