Abstract:
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the treatment and prognosis of the patients with squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid.
METHOD:The clinical data of all patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the thyroid in our hospital from Dec. 1994 to Dec. 2008 were analyzed retrospectively.
RESULT:The overall 1-year, 3-year survival rates were 36.4% and 9.1% respectively. The median survival time was 8 months. Survival analysis showed the patients receiving surgery and postoperative radiotherapy had a better prognosis.
CONCLUSION:The prognosis of squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid was poor; the patients with squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid maybe get a better prognosis by receiving surgery and postoperative radiotherapy.
