Abstract:
Traumatic brain injury is a major public health problem with high mortality and disability. The treatment of traumatic brain injury is not only limited to reduceing the mortality of the patients, but also to improve the outcome and the quality of life. Mild hypothermia is used to adjust the body temperature to below normal temperature by using sedative drugs and physical cooling, so that the central nervous system is in a state of inhibition, the response .The response to the outside and various pathological stimuli is weakened, and the treatment of reducing the patient′s mortality and improving the prognosis is achieved. The occurrence of mild hypothermia therapy keeps the body temperature in a controlled low-temperature state for a long time, so that the central nervous system is in a state of inhibition, thereby reducing secondary craniocerebral injury and improving the prognosis of patients. In this paper, the mechanism of the treatment of mild hypothermia therapy, the new adjuvant drugs, the development of clinical application, the relative limitations and prospect are discussed.
