Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the ribs reserved debridement surgery of thoracic wall tuberculosis combined with ribs destruction. Methods Five patients with thoracic wall tuberculosis who were performed routine preoperative examination and selective debridement after anti-tuberculosis treatment. If ribs were found to be damaged during surgery, they were performed debridement surgery and electrocoagulation of rib wound surface to avoid rib excision and reduce trauma reduction. After operation, the wound cavity was indwelled and drained, and local compression bandage was applied. Results The perioperative period of 5 patients was smooth and the incisions recovered well. After 3-6 months′follow-up, there was no recurrence of tuberculosis occurred. Conclusions Compared with the traditional ribectomy surgery, this surgical procedure coincides with minimally invasive concept.It can achieve the curative effect and reduce the physical injury and mental burden of the patients.
