Therapeutic effect of amlodipine combined metoprolol and its influence on blood pressure and heart rate in patients with essential hypertension

Abstract:
Objective:To explore therapeutic effect of amlodipine combined metoprolol and its influence on blood pressure and heart rate in patients with essential hypertension(EH).Methods:A total of 160 EH patients treated in our hospital were selected,randomly and equally divided into pure amlodipine treatment group(amlodipine group)and amlodipine combined metoprolol group(combined treatment group),and four weeks were treated as a treat-ment course.Blood pressure,heart rate,clinical therapeutic effect and incidence of adverse reactions were statisti-cally analyzed in two groups.Results:Compared with before treatment,there were significant reductions in blood pressure in two groups after treatment,P=0.001 all;compared with amlodipine group after treatment,there were significant reductions in heart rate[(74.5 ± 7.8)beats/min vs.(70.3 ± 5.2)beats/min]and incidence rate of ad-verse reactions(35.0% vs.12.5%),and significant rise in total effective rate(82.5% vs.95.0%)in combined treatment group after treatment,P<0.05 or <0.01.There was no significant difference in blood pressure between two groups after treatment,P>0.05 all.Conclusion:Compared with pure amlodipine,amlodipine combined metoprolol can more signifi-cantly reduce heart rate and improve therapeutic effect in patients with essential hypertension.
