Abstract:
Objective To explore nurses'work experience of postpartum nurses returning back to work in operating room. Methods The qualitative study was conducted by face-to-face semi-structured interviewing for collection of data from 14 nurses returning to work in the room.The data were analyzed and concluded by Colaizzi phenomenology method. Result Four themes were extracted including subjective feelings of discomfort (covering fatigue,pain, and discomfort), psychological burden (covering worry, irritability,fear and guilty),problems in security at work (covering lack of continuity and distraction at work)and finally demands for team support. Conclusions The postpartum nurses working in the operation rooms feel the experience of subjective feelings of discomfort, psychological burden, problems in security at work and demands for team support. The management should help them adapted to the work after delivery by way of flexible scheduling, dynamic flexible management back to the nurses, enhancement of communication and better control of work links.
