Survey on status quo of knowledge, attitudes of AIDS among medical college students

Abstract:
Objective To understand the grasping degree of AIDS knowledge in medical college students.Methods The cluster random sampling method was adopted to conduct the anonymous survey on 747 medical students from 3 colleges by using the self-administered questionnaire.Results The correct answer rates of medical students to partial AIDS knowledge was above 87.0%,but which to "mosquito bites" or " whether sharing razors and toothbrushes can spread AIDS" was relatively low,the difference among different grades was statistically significant (P<0.05);77.1% of students held "sympathetic" attitude on AIDS infected people,the freshmen and juniors had a statistically significant difference in attitude towards AIDS patients (P<0.05);the top three pathways for the medical students obtaining the AIDS knowledge were newspapers and books (91.8%),school education (83.9%) and network (77.5%).Conclusion Senior medical students master AIDS knowledge relatively well.
